Jon Luoma’s grandparents Eeva and Jon came from Finland in the early 1900s. The Niemis, his grandmother’s family, were farmers, while Jon’s father was a foreman in a factory in Fitchburg.
Jon Luoma’s repair shop has a long history of Finnish ownership. While still in school, Jon began working in the shop at age 16, and eventually became the owner. Jon proudly notes that Mäki, the former owner, preferred to sell the business to him rather than to his own son
