Anneli Alperin, née Jalkanen, was the last editor of the newspaper, New Yorkin Uutiset. She is a typical “snowbird”, living most of the time on Staten Island in New York and part of the year in Florida. In 1967, she flew to America as a young girl and met her future husband Lee Alperin Lee passed away in 2016. Anneli visits every summer her relatives and friends in Finland.
