Pauli Majamäki is a volunteer bartender when necessary both here at the Suomi Kerho Inc. and at Hauli Huvila. He came in the early 1960s to see the world and stayed on as a car body repairman.
Tapio Juhola was the president of the Suomi-Kerho Inc. in 2009.
Founded in 1956, the North Hollywood Suomi Kerho Inc. is meant for Finnish-speakers. Until recent years, they have come here from Canada to work. The members of the club say: “If you’re in Canada, you’re only in the entrance hall.” The club house was built as a dance hall by volunteers. Members come there to watch movies, Formula 1 and rally competitions on the big screen.
