David Waino Tilus's grandfather became a farmer at Cave Hill, Buffalo, South Dakota, from the mining town of Lead. Tilus grows hay in the almost treeless prairie, which is sold in Texas and Colorado.
David's grandfather donated a lot for the community's church and cemetery. Today, David, along with his cousins, is the caretakers of both.
